Transition Year follows the Junior Certificate. It is an opportunity for students to experience a wide range of educational activities including work experience. It is a year free from formal examinations with an emphasis on personal development, social awareness and life skills. TYO provides an excellent opportunity for students whose first language is not English, to work towards improving their language skills.

Extra English tuition is available to all students whose first language is not English.

Students take part in a work experience programme and do voluntary work in the community. They also take part in the Gaisce Award Scheme, run a mini enterprise company and undertake fundraising in the community.
